Laundry Love

I'm so excited to share with you some of my most fave DIY recipes for one of my most favourite rooms of the house... The Laundry Room!

From liquid laundry detergent + softener salts, you'll want to make them all as they all go so well together!! I've been using them for years and I am sure you're going to love them!

This is one of the beautiful ways that doTERRA can amplify your health by creating a low-tox home and life. If you want to become a wholesale customer and focus on green cleaning, I've created these 2 custom wellness boxes for you.

As I was trying to balance my hormones and preparing to become a mum, I was reading a series of books that absolutely changed my life. I went full-tilt into detoxing. From only drinking purified water, and scattering epson salts near our devices to absorb the radiation, to stopping dying my hair, I began my story of being committed to low-tox living!

I have always dreamt of a wonderful utility room (being a laundry!) because washing is just suck a soulful experience for me. From sorting the clothes to hanging them to be sun-kissed. The whole process floats my boat!

To make the experience wonderful, obviously choosing a low-tox option is the best. Essential oils amplify the aromatic beauty associated with washing and purifying out home!

Here is a doTERRA-famous Liquid Laundry recipe which is tried and true.

Use between 1/4 cup - 1/2 cup per load (as you normally would use liquid detergent)

Cost Breakdown:

1 cup castile soap = $3.75 (based on Dr Bronners)

1 cup baking soda = $0.30

1/3 cup Sea Salt - $0.50

20 drops of doTERRA essential oil = $1.60

TOTAL = $6.16 for about 60 loads ($0.16 per load)

I switch up which oils I use every time I make a batch but my fave combination is 10 drops Lavender + 10 drops Spearmint

Other oils/combinations that work really well in this recipe are:

Eucalyptus Lavender + Wild Orange Lavender + Rosemary Purify Blend Lemongrass

This recipe is safe for front load washers. It’s best to leave the washer door slightly open when not using so air can circulate.

Don't want to make your own?

doTERRA makes a liquid OnGuard laundry detergent that costs $35 for 64 loads, which I always have on hand too - it’s awesome. And their OnGuard Cleaning Concentrate for stains and tons of other uses too.

TIP: I like to fill a 10ml rollerbottle with the cleaning concentrate for easy rolling onto stains and always have one in my purse.

Softener Salts Recipe:

You will love this one too! This recipe works really well along side the DIY liquid recipe or the OnGuard Concentrate. Add 1/2 cup of the Laundry Softener salts recipe below right into the tub of your washer with your clothes to keep clothes staying extra fresh.

If you need to use the dryer... When your clothes are in the last 20 min of the cycle, toss in a few wool dryer balls that have a few drops of lavender on them.

Taking care of my home in this way is one of my fave aspects of living a low-tox doTERRA lifestyle.
