How to integrate doTERRA
into a retail space and create residual earnings for the business owner 💸
Spaces to consider connecting with:
👉 Dental Clinics
👉 Chiropractic Offices
👉 Acupuncturist Clinics
👉 Dog Groomers
👉 Massage Therapy Clinics
👉 Hair Salons
👉 Gyms
👉 Beauty Salons / Spas
👉 Real Estate Agents
💡 TIP: It's best to begin with businesses that you already have a relationship with:
👉 Do you have an enrolled Wholesale Customer on your team that already owns a retail / studio / salon space?
👉 Is there a studio you are a client of that you could make a service appointment for to begin the conversation?

How the retail model works:
Integrating doTERRA into a physical location is an excellent value-add opportunity for store owners and a way to build residual 💸
Getting past the retail mindset however, is the challenge here... Hauling buckets v's building a pipeline
HOW TO APPROACH A SPACE:
The best approach is to meet the retail space owner and give them some oils + a diffuser to experience as a 'loaner box' for 2 weeks and set up a second meeting 2 weeks later.
Once they have a cool experience with the oils, they will see the bigger picture.
On your 2nd meeting you could review how you can support them in launching oils for retail sales, a few in house EO 101 classes perhaps, talk about ways to take a retail customer to a wholesale account.
📦 'Experience doTERRA' Loaner Box ideas
Give them an 'Experience doTERRA box to enjoy for 2 weeks with the following:
👉 Petal or the Roam diffuser
👉 Bamboo display rack of popular oils (check out doTERRA marketplace in your back office for oil displays etc)
For example, for a spa, you would likely include AromaTouch, Ice Blue, Lavender, Easy Air, Peppermint, On Guard, Wild Orange, Lavender Peace and maybe a tube of the Ice Blue Rub
For a hair salon, you might focus on: Intro Kits, Peppermint, Rosemary, Lavender + Ice Blue Stick
👉 And Essential Life or Modern Essentials Reference Book (this would be nice to gift the business)
👉Resource Folder with price lists, store signage (see our folder for ideas)
👉 Product Catalogue
💸 Review earnings potential with business owner
FIRST REVIEW HOW ORDERING WILL WORK:
Business owner purchases the products they will sell through their monthly rewards order.
They are purchasing at 25% off and selling at full retail price on their shelf (or at least 10% above wholesale price)
They will also have signage on their shelf inviting their customers to scan a QR code to shop at wholesale and have their products delivered to their home.
THEN REVIEW THE 3 WAYS THEY WILL BE EARNING:
-
They earn on the difference between what they purchase and then sell for
-
They earn product points off of their monthly rewards order (starting at 10% back → locking in 30% back after their first year)
-
And then 20% commission off of every wholesale order a customer makes in their 1st 60 days by scanning their QR code
How to set up a retail space + support:
-
Enroll the store owner as a Wellness Advocate and setup their first month of LRP saved at 100pv minimum. They will order through their LRP, the products they will sell at retail price at their location. This also ensures that when customers decide to scan their QR code signage in the store to purchase at wholesale, these customers are enrolled to the store owner and the owner will be setup to earn the commissions from that enrolment.
Additionally, it's ideal if the Store owner has their Wellness Advocate account and a Wellness Advocate account under them to place all enrolling customers underneath (to grow a leg).
TIP: Teach the retail owner/orderer to bulk order during 200pv promo months to maximise their earnings!
2. Help the store owner to decide on which products they want to retail based on
what their services are. Scroll down to see a list of the top retail products ...
3. Create the store owner's wholesale purchasing link as a QR code to display on in
store signage. This gives their guests the opportunity to purchase at full price right off their shelves (convenient but more expensive) OR scan their QR to purchase at wholesale and have shipped to their home.
4. In Store Signage: Create in store signage for them to display which shows QR
code and any free welcome gifts they might like to offer (maybe for orders over 150pv). You might also want to create signage that shows the wholesale + retail price for each item they are selling on the shelf.
5. Create an in-store Resource Folder for their employees to have as a reference.
Click here to see our team folder printables
6. Put all signage you've printed into a Google Folder for the space to access and
print as needed
7. Request official approval from doTERRA for the space to sell at retail: email
compliance@doterra.com with your completed application
Policy Manual Section 13.1:
With written approval from dōTERRA (which will not be unreasonably withheld), a WA may sell Products and/or promote the opportunity to be a WA and sell dōTERRA Products through retail stores such as health food stores, grocery stores, and other such establishments, except in such ©2022 dōTERRA Holdings, LLC, Policy Manual AU EN 04012020 stores or establishments that, in dōTERRA’s sole discretion, are large enough to be considered state, regional or national chains.
Policy Manual Section 13.2:
WAs may not sell Products through online auctions or market place sites, such as eBay, Amazon, Facebook Marketplace, Alibaba or Catch of the Day, without written approval from dōTERRA.
Policy Manual Section 13.3:
WAs may sell Products through service establishments that provide services related to the Products. For example, dōTERRA Products may be sold through the offices of doctors and other healthcare professionals, health clubs, spas, and gyms. Hospitals may not be enrolled without written permission from compliance and legal departments.
Support you will offer the business owner:
PLACEMENTS:
Establish that you will help manage the back office end for them.
Have them forward all new customer enrolments to you and you will login to their account and place them into a leg. Remind them that it would be helpful to enrol a Wellness Advocate right away (perhaps someone from the business) so that you can structure customers into a leg.
You could subscribe each new customer to our team email drip or your own if you've made one. You could also take it to another level and send welcome packages out to each new customer on their behalf if they are a high volume generator. See checklist below for steps to Welcome a New Customer...
HELP WITH ORDERS:
Help them initially establish their first 3 months of orders based on what they want to sell. Focus on around 10 products and have at least 2 of each product. Store owner would order through their LRP and then sell at full retail price. Check in with store owner at the start of each month to see if thev need assistance.
EDUCATION:
Offer to teach an initial Natural Solutions class or topical lunch + learn within their first 3 months. And perhaps something ongoing if it's a large space. Create a Resource Folder for the staff to be able to reference for any guest questions.
