Boost Your Immune System - TipS

Tip #1 – take out processed foods and sugar.

Did you know that processed foods and sugar suppress the immune system for 12 hours and leach nutrients from your body.
When preparing food, ask yourself these questions:
– Did it come from an animal?
– Did it come from the ground?
– Does it have ingredients in it that I cannot pronounce?
– Does it come from a package?
Eat foods that are as close to nature as possible. The longer the shelf like the more preservatives there are in it.

Tip #2 – Manage stress

Stress raises cortisol levels which can cascade in the body which in turn weakens your immune system.
Use oils such as Adaptiv, Balance, Lavender Peace to help reduce feelings of stress and anxiousness.

Tip #3 – Ensure you are getting enough sleep

7-9 hours of quality sleep helps to restore the immune system. It is amazing what a restful nights sleep can do for your body.

If you need extra support, reach for calming oils for the diffuser at night – Lavender Peace, Roman Chamomile, Petitgrain, Magnolia, or take a Serenity softgel 30 minutes before bed for a deeper more restful sleep.

Tip #4 – Add in daily vitamins / supplements

As one of our most popular products, Lifelong Vitality Pack is full of essential nutrients, metabolism benefits and powerful antioxidants designed to help promote energy, health and lifelong vitality.

These supplements will help fill in the gaps where we have nutrition deficits – supporting our body and strengthening our immune system

Scented Pinecones 🌲

This one is so simple! All you need are dry pinecones (bonus points if you collect them yourself - our driveway has a ton of them! The trick is finding perfect ones that haven't been eaten out by cockatoos!) and your favourite essential oil.

If you do happen to grab your own pinecones from outside, be sure to cook them in the oven at 160C for at least 30 minutes or until the pinecones have opened. Put one drop of essential oil on each pine cone.

Some suggestions include Cassia, Clove, Holiday Joy, Holiday Peace, Wild Orange, Siberian Fir, or Wintergreen. Place pinecones in a decorative bowl and voila you have a natural room freshener!

Winter Wonderland room spray!

In a 120ml glass spray bottle add:
40ml witch hazel or vodka
10 drops Cedarwood
10 drops Cinnamon Bark
10 drops Siberian Fir

Top up with distilled water + then shake and spray all over the house!

As cold as it is, exercising in the wintertime has its benefits. The cold weather means no heat or humidity, which might contribute to you being able to work out longer, and to feel more invigorated. Perhaps the best benefit of all, your body has to work slightly harder to regulate your temperature in the cold, so you burn more calories.

I always love filling my diffuser but there is something extra exciting about cozy blends...

Peppermint Fudge 🍫

You have probably had Peppermint Brownies by now, but what about Peppermint fudge?

140ml can of evaporated milk

 12 tablespoons of butter
 3 cups granulated sugar
 340g of semi-sweet chocolate
 200ml jar of marshmallow creme
 10 drops of Peppermint Oil

Line a 23 x 33 cm pan with parchment paper.
Place the evaporated milk, butter, and sugar into a heavy-bottom saucepan over medium heat. Stir continually and bring to a rolling boil.
Continue to stir until a candy thermometer reads 112 degC (around 4 minutes).
Remove the pan from heat and stir in chocolate and marshmallow creme.
Add Peppermint oil and stir.
Pour fudge into the prepared pan and let cool.
Use a knife to cut into 3cm squares (or use small cookie cutters!)

Baked Apple Streusel 🍏

Just as much as I like adding essential oils to my drinks, I love to cook and bake with them!

This Baked Apple Streusel recipe is so amazing!

Ingredients:

½ cup oats,
½ cup all-purpose flour,
½ cup brown sugar,
6 tablespoons butter (cold, not room temp),
1 drop Cinnamon Bark,
1 drop Ginger,
1 drop OnGuard,
½ cup dried fruit (dates, raisins, cranberries, cherries), and
4 large baking apples.

Heat oven to 180C and spray a pie pan or other oven-safe dish with nonstick spray. Combine oats, flour, and brown sugar in a bowl. Use a fork to cut in the butter until it is a crumbly mixture. Add essential oils and dried fruit and blend well, then refrigerate as you prepare the apples. Slice off a small portion of each apple so they can sit in the bottom of the baking dish. Core the apple without cutting all the way to the bottom. Spoon streusel mixture into each apple packing it down and allowing it to overflow. Bake at 180C for 40 minutes.

There are a large range of oils that you can use to support yourself and your loved ones in winter and everyone will have different go-to’s each season.

These 9 oils are our must have’s for Winter. (TIP: Add Neroli too!)

Tummy Tamer Roller Blend

This time of year is specifically known for indulging in comfort food (notice all the chocolate advertisements?!). With all the sweets, treats, and yummy food it is hard to not find yourself in need of some digestive relief. Well, we have an answer for you!

Tummy Tamer Roller Blend

In a 10 mL roller bottle blend together:
10 drops ZenGest
10 drops Ginger
10 drops Peppermint
Top with a carrier oil and apply to the stomach region as needed.

One of my favourite things to do is to have a bath on a cold day.

There are so many oils you can add to epsom salts and add to your bath, but when it is cold, I love to add a few drops of Cinnamon (with some Fractionated Coconut Oil otherwise it can be spicy on the skin!) and then spend 20-30 minutes soaking.

Other oils you can try to warm you up and support your body in the cooler months are OnGuard, Frankincense, Copaiba and Aroma Touch
